Infection Prevention Services

  • Program analysis during times of transition, staff turnover, and survey preparedness, which may include onsite assessment, phone and web consultation, and written reports based on evidence-based practice.
  • Program development for new facilities or novice infection preventionists.
  • Program support during emergent issues, such as outbreaks, public health concerns, negative survey findings, and internal environmental disasters.
  • Comprehensive documentation evaluation and support, including infection prevention and control plans, risk assessments, respiratory protection program, tuberculosis and bloodborne pathogen exposure plans, policies, and corrective action responses.
  • Data analysis utilizing the CDC’s National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) and/or web-based platforms, along with data optimization and quality improvement team recommendations for improvement.
  • Expertise in all facets of healthcare, including acute and long term care, ambulatory and outpatient venues, dentistry, pediatric, and behavioral health settings.
  • Navigation of accreditation and regulatory survey and complaint processes, including the Joint Commission, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, OSHA, state and local departments of health, and other specialty-based organizations.
  • Support for central sterile processing and high level disinfection, as well as environmental services, which may include direct observations, analysis of policies and procedures with documentation compliance, and evidence based practice recommendations.
  • Quality improvement project management for optimal healthcare associated infection (HAI) outcomes, including but not limited to, central line associated bloodstream infections (CLABSIs), catheter associated urinary tract infections (CAUTIs), surgical site infections (SSIs), and multi-drug resistant organisms (MDROs).
  • Analysis of emergency preparedness planning and implementation, including evaluation of successes, opportunities for improvement, and long term program evolution.
  • Outbreak investigation consultation, to include occupational health, environmental services, and leadership team optimization.
  • Facilitation of multi-disciplinary construction, renovation and remediation-related infection prevention risk assessments to optimize environmental controls and mitigate unintended consequences from conception through launch phases of project.
  • Educational and motivational presentations to various audiences from environmental services to the board of directors, utilizing on-site and computer-based forums.
